Easiest homemade vegan burger patties EVER!
Sweet potato, oats, and chipotle chiles + some spices make for an excellent patty on a Kaiser bun. We like to offer a variety of toppings, but the avocado and vegan mayo are both a must.
Vegan Chipotle Sweet Potato Burgers
1 1/2 cups baked, peeled, mashed sweet potato, 1 large or 2 medium
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 or 2 minced chipotle chiles (from a can of chipotle chiles in adobo sauce)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Options for garnish: vegan mayo, avocado, onion, tomato, lettuce, salsa, pico de gallo
1. In a large bowl, mix the mashed sweet potato, oats, cumin, garlic, salt, pepper, and chipotle chiles until well incorporated.
2. Cover and set aside in the fridge for 15 minutes to allow the moisture to distribute.
3. Form mixture into 4 patties. In a skillet, pan-fry over medium heat in a little olive oil for about 4 minutes per side.
4. Serve on a Kaiser roll with vegan mayo + your choice of garnishes.
